This Day in History: 1931-12-10

Jane Addams became the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.  Halvdan Koht, speaking on behalf of the Nobel Prize Committee said,  “In honoring Jane Addams, we also pay tribute to the work which women can do for peace and fraternity among nations.”
