This Day in History: 1863-10-06

Clara Cressingham is born.  In 1894 she becomes one of three women elected to serve in the Colorado House of Representatives along the Frances S. Klock and Carrie Clyde Holly.  All three are Republicans (from the days when the Republican Party was a progressive party).  Klock and Cressingham served for Arapahoe County (which then included Denver) and Holly served for Pueblo County.
